Khayelitsha is a township situated on the Cape Flats in the Western Cape. Khayelitsha means “New Home” in isiXhosa and is reputed to be the largest and fastest-growing township in South Africa. There have been many developments, such as new brick housing and new schools being built and the creation of a central business district in the township.
The Chamber's supports local area with development by providing support for:
- Enterprise development - increasing awareness of opportunities for learning, development and links to expertise.
- Networking events - enabling members to connect with new customers, suppliers, experts and decision-makers.
- Business retention and expansion programmes - for firms to express their concerns about issues affecting business in the area, and to steer systematic improvement of their local business environment.
- Participation in regional sector and value chain development programmes.
