Leaders of lead firms understand their industry sub-sectors better than anyone else. These leaders can therefore provide deep insights and good ideas about improving their parts of the economic eco- system. This survey is the first step of a structured improvement process, empowering businesses to better shape their local business environment. This process involves all role players in the economy, including 25 industry associations have agreed to work together to systematically strengthen the Western Cape economy. The provincial government has agreed for this process to directly inform their economic development strategies and the budget allocation.
Businesses grow faster in regions with a competitive business environment. A weak business environment stifles growth and employment unnecessarily. Currently our unemployment levels are among the worst in the world.
This survey provides businesses in your sub-sector and location, a means to point out the challenges and what should change to free up growth. This survey is conducted by the Cape Chamber and ensures that it keeps your identity confidential.
HOW YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE TO SHAPING A STRONGER WC ECONOMIC ECO-SYSTEM

2. Encourage other businesses to also complete the survey. If enough businesses in your part of the eco-system complete their questionnaires, we have representative sample, that provides a starting point to make improvements at that sub-group level.
We will share the finding from the survey back to all involved. This will enable us all to see what various sub-groups prioritized for improvement. The good ideas will then form basis for further deliberations, to then formulate well considered proposals.
