Never underestimate the value of a robust network

Never underestimate the value of a robust network. Whether you’re talking politics, electricity, telecommunications, digital marketing, or enterprise development, the underlying network is the operating system without which nothing much would happen, or nothing at all.

This is why the Cape Chamber is proud to launch yet another Chapter, the Philippi East Industrial Chapter, the latest addition to an ever-growing business stakeholder network that is our greatest weapon in the battle to extend business frontiers.

A particularly pleasing aspect of the latest launch was the level of collaboration between public and private stakeholders, a hallmark of success in a year largely characterised by improved public private dialogue. We firmly believe this positive engagement is fundamental to shaping a better future not only for the Philippi precinct but the entire regional business environment.

It is a measure of this new spirit of cooperation that the Philippi launch was attended by various public sector stakeholders, among them Eskom Key Accounts Manager Kgopisho Mahunonyane, who sketched a positive future vision where Eskom plays an active role as a business enabler. Also in attendance were City of Cape Town officials Solomon Philander and Johnson Fetu, their presence underlining the City’s support of the Cape Chamber’s objective of improving the business environment, precinct by precinct.

In summary, this latest Cape Chapter launch vividly demonstrates the value of stakeholder engagement, particularly where it involves the private and public sector working seamlessly to confront economic impediments in a pragmatic way. By collaborating in this way we share information and ensure everyone is on the same page, working towards a common purpose.

A special thanks to Sea Harvest and WasteBusters for sponsoring the launch event.
