H2A visa jobs fair

(Media Release: Issued and provided by the H2A Visa Jobs Fair)

Every year about 11 000 South Africans work, for between six and nine months, on a farm in the USA. These South Africans come back with a wealth of experience on farming and living in the USA, enabling them to add value to their own communities through the skills they have acquired.

Key feature

  • The travel and visa application costs are generally re-imbursed by the employer
  • For those who cannot afford the initial outlay, a limited number of bursaries will be made available to qualifying individuals
  • An on-line soft skills training module on living and working in the USA is made available by the University of the Free State
  • Although an agricultural background will be an advantage, no specific skills are required.
