Graduates called to register on City’s internship database by 18 August 2023

The City of Cape Town’s Human Resources Department encourages unemployed graduates who reside in Cape Town to register on its internship database before 18 August 2023 in order to be considered for the City’s various training and skills development opportunities over the next year.

"The City has various graduate internship and skills development opportunities that become available during the course of the year as the operational needs arise across the Municipality’s various departments. We therefore need a solid database of qualified graduates who meet the requirements and would be ready and available to pursue these opportunities when the specific applications open.

"I encourage young graduates, as well as those who have attained the National Senior Certificate and are currently unemployed, to take the first step and register their details. An opportunity best suited to their qualification could become available, and once registered, this will allow them to be considered," said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Corporate Services, Alderman Theresa Uys.

Through these graduate internships and skills development programmes, the City aims to offer the kind of training and work experience that helps individuals to succeed in the job market and find permanent employment.

To register on this database, applicants will first need to:

  • Register for e-Services and activate the careers service via e-Services
  • Once this is activated, an online CV will need to be created. Here applicants are to fill in their personal details, education and training, work experience, and qualifications.

Importantly, the following digital copies need to be uploaded:

  • Identification document (ID)
  • Cover letter
  • Qualifications such as a matric certificate, diploma or degree; and any references.

Once the online CV has been created, applicants will be able to visit the City’s job search and look for the internship they want to register for.
