(Media Release: Issued and provided by the City of Cape Town, Media Office)
The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility directorate hereby advises residents of the resurfacing of roads in Gardens, Oranjezicht, Vredehoek and the Tamboerskloof area.
Work has commenced this week and will continue until 21 May 2024, between 09:00 and 15:30 from Monday to Friday. Residents are to note that work along Signal Hill Drive may need to be done during the night from 19:00 until 05:00 as well as over weekends.
"The roadworks will include the resurfacing of the affected roads and the painting of road markings. There will be an application of new asphalt surfacing layer and repairs on the identified roads and of course, general cleaning of the stormwater infrastructure will also be done as this is essential ahead of our rainy season.
"The team has started on Signal Hill Drive this week. I would like to thank road users for their patience over the next couple of weeks as our teams complete the work as efficiently as possible," said the City's Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility Councillor Rob Quintas.
