The Economic & Finance Portfolio Committee will be hosting a meeting with Dr Mthokozisi Tshuma (Senior Sector Expert: Economy at the National Planning Commission) and Ms Noluthando Qwelani (Research Assistant: Economy at the National Planning Commission). The National Planning Commission is stationed within the National Department of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation.
In June this year, President Ramaphosa delivered his third State of the Nation Address (SONA) in Parliament. He stated that time for idle talk was now over – everything comes down to implementation if the country is to realise the vision of the National Development Plan (NDP) and announced seven priorities that will fast track South Africa’s path to prosperity.
The National Planning Commission (NPC) met President Ramaphosa last month to discuss the progress made in the implementation of the NDP and as part of the review touched upon better alignment between the national budget and the implementation of the NDP.
The objective of the meeting is to provide a status update of the NDP and highlight the country’s key economic priorities & strategies, as identified by Government.
Attendees will also be given an opportunity to raise questions, concerns and provide input.
We welcome the attendance and engagement of business.
