Data protection laws exist globally, and no business is exempt from them. Organisations that have international branches are also required to comply with these laws, whether they are aware of the laws or not.
The Cape Chamber’s Innovation and Digital Portfolio Committee will be hosting an engagement with Mr Ross Saunders of the Data Crusader who specialises in data protection and information security.
As an international speaker, author, facilitator and consultant, Ross demystifies the technical, security and legalities of data protection, making them accessible and easier to understand by all levels of the organisation.
The meeting will focus on:
- What data protection is
- How data protection affects businesses in an interactive and visual manner
- How easily a data breach can occur
- The costs of a data breach
- What businesses can do to protect their data
Mr Saunders will also cover specific scenarios where data collected is at risk, as well as discuss the consequences of non-compliance to some of the most frequently seen data protection laws globally.
He will offer advice on how to move towards compliance by putting simple controls in place in your business.
We welcome your attendance and engagement at the meeting.
