Rumble in the Urban Jungle
Terms and Conditions of Purchase
The Cape Chamber of Commerce & Industry (“the Chamber”) serves, leads and enables business in the Western Cape. The Chamber hosts live events from time to time so as to keep the business community informed and updated.
Those who make the reservation and/or purchase the ticket and/or attend the event are collectively referred to as “you” in these terms and conditions.
Tickets purchased are intended to give you the right to attend the Rumble. The Chamber has the right to seat you according to the seating plan prepared by the Chamber, and you do not have the right to change your allotted seat unless done in consultation with and approval from the Chamber’s event manager or other authority designated by the Chamber’s Executive Director.
Attendees are precluded from bringing in to the venue any merchandise, food or beverages or promotional material of any kind other than business cards which can be distributed on a personal non-invasive basis.
It is your responsibility to ensure that your reservation has been confirmed. Should you arrive at the venue and you are not registered as an attendee, we have the right to refuse you access.
Any reservations made with unauthorised agents or third parties are not valid and admission to the event on the basis of such reservations will not be allowed.
We reserve the right to restrict the number of attendees to the event and to retrospectively cancel any reservations made in excess of this number.
If an error is made in the price of tickets ordered by you, you will be notified by us as soon as possible and we will give you the option to either (a) reconfirm your ticket order at the correct price; or (b) cancel your ticket order and receive a full refund from us.
No refunds for cancellations or no-shows will be allowed.
Attendees may be substituted, however if the member rate was paid, and the substitute is a non-member, the balance will be due to the Chamber, and this will be for the original purchaser’s account. Should the non-member rate be paid, and a member attends, the Chamber is not liable to refund the difference in price. If proof is provided that the attendee cannot attend the Rumble because of his or her death or hospitalisation, the Chamber will refund the full amount.
Your reservation is subject to our right to cancel or reschedule the Rumble at any time, or to alter or vary the programme of the Rumble, should circumstances beyond our reasonable control prevail. Where we alter or vary the programme, we shall not be obligated to refund you any monies.
Should the advertised speakers be unable to fulfil their obligations of providing a reasonable talk, or for any reason be unable to present or debate, the event is not considered cancelled and you will not be entitled to a refund.
Although written confirmation is obtained from the speakers, should they cancel for whatever reason, the Chamber will endeavour to find a suitable replacement if a reasonable period of time has elapsed between the speaker cancelling and the event.
Should the speaker/s not arrive, the event will still proceed and no refunds will be due to you.
If the Rumble is rescheduled or cancelled, we will use our reasonable endeavours to notify you as soon as reasonably possible thereof, including notifying you of the details of any rescheduled event, by publishing the details of the rescheduled or cancelled event, on the website at the domain http://capechamber.co.za/events-list/ and by e-mail notification to the contact details which you provide at the time of the reservation.
Should you not wish to attend a rescheduled Rumble, you will be reimbursed subject to you informing the Chamber within 48 hours of the notice of the revised date being sent.
We understand that the Rumble deals with issues that may elicit an emotional response. Appropriate standards of behaviour are expected of all persons attending the event and persons deemed to be behaving in a manner that is disruptive, dangerous or unacceptable in the opinion of the Chamber, will be refused admission and/or removed from the venue with no refund.
In order to facilitate the security, safety and comfort of all attendees, staff and guests, we reserve the right to conduct security searches of persons, clothing, bags and all other items on entry and exit of the venue, to confiscate items which may cause danger or disruption to the event or to refuse admission and/or to refund the ticket if we have reasonable grounds to do so.
Smoking will only be allowed in designated areas.
You are encouraged to share your experience on social media, however the unauthorised use of photographic, video and/or sound recording equipment is prohibited.
If you are a disabled person, you are requested to inform the Chamber and all reasonable effort will be made to accommodate you at the event, subject to our capacity to do so, and the confines and layout of the facilities.
Please note that the event will be filmed and by attending the event, you consent to being filmed, photographed, videotaped, or otherwise recorded, and that your name, voice and likeliness may be broadcast, displayed or distributed (commercial or otherwise) without any compensation being paid to you.
Neither the venue nor the Chamber can accept responsibility for damage to or loss of any personal property at the event.
You bear the risk of inclement weather or any other natural or man-made occurrence preventing you from attending the event.
These terms and conditions constitute the whole agreement between you and the Chamber in respect of the subject matter hereof and no addition to or variation or novation of this agreement shall be of any force or effect, unless reduced to writing and signed by all parties or their duly authorised representatives.
