Terms and conditions for website applications

Terms and conditions for website applications
  • 4th September 2019
    11:00 - 12:30

We often just click the T & C’s  button at the bottom of the screen without ever reading what we have just agreed to, for and on behalf of our company or ourselves.

We also set up our own business or personal websites and either copy some other random site’s terms and conditions or omit them altogether – what have we just done?

The Cape Chamber’s Innovation and Digital Portfolio Committee will be hosting an engagement with Mr Roy Taberer, a practicing laywer in the field of Intellectual Property Law at Taberer Attorneys in Cape Town.

The meeting will address some of the issues related to Terms and Conditions, a vital, yet misunderstood part of contractual law used when selling goods or services.

Mr Taberer will focus and cover, among other things:

  • What are T&C’s?
  • Why are they needed?
  • How is a customer bound to the T&C’s?
  • Important terms which must be included in T&C’s
  • What happens when T&C’s are breached?
  • The implications of consumer protection law  and other relevant acts on T&C’s

We welcome your attendance and engagement at the meeting.

Please note that there is NO LONGER any casual parking in the Park-a-lot parking garage.
